Race 14 March 2023

Lotto Dstny Development rider Tijl De Decker has won the third stage at the Tour de Taiwan (UCI 2.1). The 21-year-old Belgian was the fastest of a reduced bunch after a tricky stage of over 150 kilometres in length. De Decker beat the Italian Zanoncello and the Dutchman Kreder, who remains the overall leader of the race.

After an earlier fifth place in the opening stage, De Decker now takes victory in stage three. “I cannot express in words how happy I am with this stage win and the first win of our team in this Tour de Taiwan. It’s my first time racing in Taiwan and the support and welcome of the fans is just incredible. It was quite a tough stage, and the pace was really high but I am so happy to win this stage, thanks to the support of my teammates. Tomorrow we will focus on our climbers, but in the closing stage there might be another opportunity for me”, concludes Tijl De Decker.
