"This victory is certainly one of the entire team!"

This afternoon Arnaud De Lie won the GP Color Code. It’s the third victory for a U23 rider of Lotto Soudal this week after Jarne Van de Paar took the win in Kemmel Koerse on Wednesday and Liam Slock finished first at the climbing race in Herbeumont, where De Lie got third.

“What a week!”, begins Arnaud De Lie. “It’s amazing that in a few days time, three of our riders were able to win and this victory definitely is one of us all. The teammates set a high pace in the finale and escapees didn’t stand a chance against them. With four kilometres to go, I decided to attack on the descent. I didn’t want to wait for the sprint. When we got on the last hill, I had a small lead over the bunch. And I soloed to victory.”

“I felt good in the race”, continues De Lie. “I notice that I start to benefit from my Giro participation last month. I also want to thank my teammates for the hard work today, this victory is certainly one of the entire team.”

“My next race will be Vresse-sur-Semois next Wednesday. On 17 July I will participate in the Belgian TT Championship for U23 riders and the next day I will ride the GP Nogent-sur-Oise. Thanks to this victory I am leading the classification of the U23 Road Series. The next race is the Hel van Voerendaal on 1 August and I would like to defend my leader’s position.”
