Maxime Monfort and Cherie Pridham will leave the team at the end of the season. Lotto Dstny wants to thank them for their work the past years and wishes them best of luck in their new jobs.

Maxime Monfort has been with the team for a long time. The last six years of his career he was a rider for first Lotto-Belisol, later Lotto-Soudal. He retired from professional cycling in 2019 and started as a sports director in 2020. “It is with great emotion that I announce that I will leave the team at the end of 2023”, says Monfort. “This has been the most difficult decision of my career. I weighed the pros and cons. I talked a lot with the people who were important to me, and in the end I decided to make the switch to a new team.”

“I'm leaving a healthy team with a bright future and an extremely competent manager. I'm also convinced that my fellow sport directors will be able to match the quality of the group. I would like to thank Lotto Dstny for the last ten years. I will always keep a close eye on their results. I sincerely wish them a return to the World Tour in 2026. And of course, I will try to contribute to this goal until the end of the 2023 season.”

Cherie Pridham joined the team in 2022 and became the first female sports director in our team. “As I embark on a new career opportunity and join a new team, I wanted to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude for the incredible journey I have had with the team”, says Cherie Pridham, “the decision to move on was not an easy one, but I am excited to embrace this new chapter in my professional life. I would like to extend my appreciation to our CEO Stéphane Heulot and Kurt Van de Wouwer, for their support and of course my thanks to the riders and the entire Lotto Dstny family. The camaraderie and teamwork I experienced during my tenure have been truly exceptional. The shared passion and dedication within the team have made these past few years incredibly memorable and rewarding. I am grateful for the opportunities I received to learn, grow, and contribute within the Lotto Dstny family. The memories and experiences will forever hold a special place in my heart. I leave with a sense of pride and gratitude, knowing that I have been a part of something truly remarkable.”

Last week Lotto Dstny announced that from 2024 on, Tony Gallopin and Dirk Demol will strengthen the team’s core of sports directors. “Although the season is still going on, we have to take a look already at 2024", says CEO Stéphane Heulot. "We are well prepared for what’s coming and are confident for the next step. It’s always sad when people say goodbye, but that’s something every team has to deal with. I want to thank Cherie and Max for all their work the past years, for their contribution to the team, for their insights and their passion for our sport. I’m convinced they will still give the best of themselves till the end of this season and I wish them all the luck in the world in their new jobs.”
