ProTeam “Our guys are hungry to race and to immediately perform”

Everybody will be at the start eager and fully motivated to race and that’s also the case at Lotto Dstny.
Race 20 January 2023

This Sunday 22 January, the new cycling season on the European continent will be kicked off with the Classica Comunitat Valenciana, a 1.1 one-day race with start in Valencia and finish in La Nucia. Th peloton will immediately face a tough course, where the ascent of the Alto de Bixauca (18 km at 2,7% average) will most likely decide the race. Lotto Dstny has multiple cards to play and is hungry to deliver a strong performance.

Sports manager Kurt Van de Wouwer looks ahead: “The Classica Comunitat Valenciana is our first race of the season in Europe. Everybody will be at the start eager and fully motivated to race and that’s also the case at Lotto Dstny. Our guys are hungry to race and immediately perform. Contrary to the past years, the race starts in Valencia with the finish taking place in La Nucia. The Alto de Bixauca, a long climb with the top at 24 kilometres from the line, will be crucial. So a sprint at the end won’t definitely be straightforward. Moreover, most teams will know the course because like Lotto Dstny, most guys have done a training camp in the area.”
